Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the border from next door Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is not legal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a generally tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, financial sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 1700, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is real of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel building that contains many conveniences accompanying the gambling hall, which offers ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
